Last night was our Chick-fil-a fundraiser night at the Chick-fil-a on Chastain Road in Kennesaw, GA. Heather, our treasurer, worked it out with this Chick-fil-a location for us to hold a spirit night from 5:00-8:00. During this time frame, the restaurant placed a box at the register in which people could drop their receipts. For each receipt in the box, we receive 20% of those total purchases! This was such a great fundraiser for us; Chick-fil-ais so generous! Although we do not know our total amount yet, we should know soon. (Thank you to Brad Roper, the franchised restaurant operator of this location!)
On Facebook yesterday, I changed my status to read, “Help ΩΦΑ help others! TONIGHT is our fundraiser night at the Chick-fil-a on Chastain Rd. Go there between 5:00-8:00, order, and say, “I”M EATING FOR OMEGA PHI ALPHA.” They will give us a percentage of your purchase- it’s that easy! 🙂 Please pass this along and take all of your friends with you to Chick-fil-a TONIGHT!!!!” Many other sisters copied my status and made it their status as well. I was feeling so much Omega Phi Alpha love on Facebook last night! For both our fundraiser night and this blog itself! (Thank you, Lauren!!) Here is a look at my wall:
Now, back to the Chick-fil-a fundraiser night… Since we didn’t spend any money on this fundraiser, it will be beneficial for us no matter how much we make.Unlike the bake sales, etc. that we have done in the past, each sister did not spend money on materials only for the sorority to make less than what we spent… These fundraising events have been especially frustrating for me in the past, and I am glad that we are going in a different direction. Here is a picture of everyone who was at Chick-fil-a when I was there (around 7:00):
Heather has found another fundraiser for us along the same lines. We will be working with a relatively new, local pizza place in Kennesaw to hand out coupons. These coupons will have our name on them, and for each coupon that is used at the restaurant, Omega Phi Alpha will receive $3! Heather asked me last night at Chick-fil-a if I would come up with a logo for these coupons. Here is what I came up with: interpretation
She emailed it to the guy at the restaurant, and I think that we are still waiting to hear back from him to see whether or not this image will work for our coupons. Once the image is finalized, we should have the coupons within a week, and we will be able to start handing them out on campus and in the community. I am really excited for this fundraising project as well, because I think that it will be really successful for us! Also, we will be hopefully generate some good business for this up-and-coming restaurant. More info to come on this project!
